Daystar is a K–12 IB school that places a strong emphasis on bilingual education, character development, and social innovation. We care not only about how much knowledge students acquire, but also whether they learn to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and take responsibility. Our goal is for every student to build a strong academic foundation while growing into a capable, confident, and compassionate person.

Our goal is not simply for students to “speak both Chinese and English,” but to be able to learn, think, and express themselves in both languages.

We support the long-term development of both Chinese and English while helping students deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and appreciate cultural diversity. Age-appropriate language support is provided according to students’ developmental needs at each stage.

Our Chinese curriculum follows China’s National Curriculum Standards, while our English curriculum is aligned with the U.S. Common Core State Standards. Chinese and English are balanced at approximately 50% each across listening, speaking, reading, writing, and IB inquiry-based learning.

By the end of elementary school, students can achieve, or come close to achieving, academically native-level proficiency in both languages.

The IB emphasizes inquiry, critical thinking, communication, and real-world application rather than relying solely on memorization and examinations.

Daystar pays close attention to each student’s individual learning needs and provides personalized support while maintaining appropriate academic challenge. We also help students develop the resilience and problem-solving skills they need to face difficulties without losing their curiosity or enthusiasm for learning.

Twenty-two percent of our teachers have studied at overseas universities, including Harvard University, Columbia University, the University of Manchester, University College London, the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, the University of Queensland, Monash University, the University of York, and the University of Illinois.

Importantly, this international experience is not limited to our English faculty. It extends across mathematics, Chinese, English, the arts, learning support, LEAP, and other subject areas.

Daystar emphasizes personalized and differentiated instruction. Students who need additional support in English can receive one-to-one or small-group instruction through LEAP, our English as an Additional Language program. We also offer enrichment programs in Chinese, mathematics, and English to provide further challenges for students who are ready to go beyond the standard curriculum.

Daystar’s Social Innovation Program involve partnerships with real-world organizations. By participating in these initiatives, students begin preparing for life in the wider world from an early age.

Daystar provides a complete K–12 IB education that builds a strong foundation for students applying to universities in different countries and regions.

University preparation is important to us, but we do not define educational success solely by admission results. More importantly, we help students discover their strengths and interests and gradually develop the ability to make informed choices about their own futures.

Our graduates have received offers from universities in approximately 20 countries, primarily in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

A number of universities have admitted Daystar students consistently over multiple years, reflecting their growing recognition of our graduates. Our students have pursued more than 36 areas of study, spanning art and design, STEM, the humanities and social sciences, and interdisciplinary fields.

In recent years, the number of scholarships awarded to our graduates has increased significantly, demonstrating their growing all-around capabilities and global competitiveness.
