Meet Our New Executive Head of School, Mr. Daniel Williams!

We are very excited to announce that Mr. Daniel Williams, Executive Secondary School Principal, will become the Executive Head of School at Daystar Academy in the coming school year. From the first day she joined Daystar, Nancy was very determined to achieve her dream. She said she wanted to go to Royal Veterinary College during her first family interview with Melissa Meltzer Warehall, the head of college counseling at Daystar. After her growth at Daystar, Nancy is now one step closer to her dreams of becoming a veterinarian and a professional equestrian.

Beyond 8 Hours: Extracurricular Activities Make Students Want to Stay at School Longer!

At Daystar, our students enjoy coming to school so much that they don’t want to go home. In addition to the regular eight hours of classes, students love to attend the daily ASA.

Graduates | David Liu: A Self-motivated Boy with Offers from ICL and UCL

Everyone agrees that David Liu has clear goals and internal drive and he is conscientious in his work and open to receiving instruction. As an gifted, hard-working student, it was unsurprising that David received admissions offers from a number of renowned universities, including the architecture programs at the Universities of Edinburgh and Manchester and the civil engineering programs at University College London (UCL) and Imperial College.

Learning by Doing in the desert, ancient cities, tea gardens, and fishing villages

Let’s go to the desert, fishing village, ancient city, tea garden … Let’s travel around the world – our “borderless” classroom. From April 26-28, Daystar Grade 6-10 students embarked on the Community Connections Experience. They travelled to Qingdao, Xi’an, Suzhou, Inner Mongolia to explore the local cultures, understand the social and community development, and learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN.

Unity Day: United for a Better Tomorrow

On May 13, Ivy Education Group’s annual Unity Day and Daystar Academy’s 20th-anniversary celebrations kicked off at Daystar Beigao Campus. Community members from Ivy Education Group and the 14 Ivy schools gathered at Daystar Beigao Campus. Unity Day, an annual event celebrating Daystar’s incorporation into Ivy Group, once again brought everyone together and reminded us of the strength of unity:

Thanks to their diversified international experience and global foresight, Mr. Cai and his wife Dawn Vermilya founded the Daystar Academy two decades ago when there were few bilingual schools in Beijing. They brought their vision of cultivating global citizens with good moral character and physical fitness to life. They have continued to watch school grow and offer support ever since.

“Discovering” Ourselves: Daystar’s First High School Graduates Received Their University Offers!

As April came to a close, all 15 of our Grade 12 students have received multiple offers of admission amounting to 154 admission letters from 91 higher education institutions (10.3 per person), including public and private research universities, comprehensive universities, and liberal arts colleges located in North America, Europe, and Oceana. The scholarship offers received are worth more than RMB 27,000,000.
